After. is a service of Erin Falconer and Associates, LLC, built for people doing painful, private work — so we collect as little as possible and tell you plainly what happens to it. Questions? Email drerinfalconer@pm.me.
The short version
- You need a free account (email and password) to use the exercises and save your writing.
- Your exercise entries are saved to your private account on our servers — access is restricted so other users can’t read them.
- We don’t read your entries except where strictly necessary to operate the service, and we never sell, rent, or share them, or use them for advertising.
- The optional newsletter email is separate from your account and entirely opt-in.
- You can export or permanently delete your writing and your entire account at any time.
- After. is educational content — not therapy, medical or legal advice, or an emergency service.
What we collect
Account information. To create an account you give us an email address and a password. Your password is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we cannot see it.
Your exercise entries. When you write in an exercise and it saves, that text is stored in your account on our servers so you can return to it across sessions and devices. Each entry is linked to your account and to the exercise it belongs to, with the dates it was created and updated.
Optional newsletter email. If you choose to sign up for occasional updates, we store that email address for that purpose and nothing else. It’s entirely optional and separate from your account — you can read every page and use every exercise without it.
Basic technical logs. As with essentially every website, our hosting provider records limited technical information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We don’t use it to profile you, and we run no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
Where it’s stored and how it’s protected
Your account and your entries are stored in a database hosted on Supabase (via Lovable Cloud), our infrastructure provider, acting on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and encrypted at rest by the provider.
Access is restricted so that other users cannot see your entries — the database enforces, at the row level, that each account can only read and write its own writing.
We’d rather be precise than make a promise we can’t keep: because we operate the service, our infrastructure includes administrative access to the database. This is not end-to-end encryption, and we don’t claim it’s technically impossible for us to access stored data. What we commit to is this — we do not read your entries except where strictly necessary to operate, secure, or support the service, or where required by law, and we never sell, rent, or share your entries or use them for advertising or profiling.
Who we share with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the providers that make After work — currently our hosting and database provider (Supabase, via Lovable Cloud) and the email service that delivers account and newsletter emails — and only so they can perform those functions for us.
If you choose “Book a session” on the Work with a person page, you’re taken to a separate scheduling service (SimplePractice), operated by Erin Falconer and Associates, LLC. Anything you enter there is handled under that service’s own terms and privacy practices, separate from this page.
Your choices and rights
- Export — download a copy of your writing from your Account page at any time.
- Delete — delete individual entries, or delete your entire account and all associated data, from your Account page. Deletion removes your entries from our database.
- Unsubscribe — every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Contact — for any privacy question or request, email drerinfalconer@pm.me.
A note on shared devices
Because your writing is tied to your account, anyone logged into your account on a device can read it. If you share a device, sign out when you’re done and consider a private or incognito window. If your safety depends on someone not discovering this work, please take extra care with who can access your account — and consider whether to use the writing features at all.
Sensitive information
Some of what you write here relates to your mental health, your relationships, and experiences of coercion or abuse. We treat it as sensitive and handle it accordingly. After. is not a HIPAA-covered healthcare provider, but we aim to protect this information carefully, and if we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Not therapy, not a crisis service
After. is educational and reflective content. It is not therapy, diagnosis, treatment, or medical or legal advice, and using it does not create a professional or clinical relationship. If you are in crisis, please use the crisis resources or reach a licensed professional or emergency service.
Consent & changes
By creating an account and using the exercises, you consent to the collection and storage described on this page. If we change what we collect or how we handle it, we’ll update this page and the date above, and communicate significant changes before they take effect.
