Reading readiness
Dr. Felicia Rosario curates a trauma-informed reading list for survivors, families, and helping professionals called The Coercion Recovery Shelf. Her framing is worth keeping in mind before you dive into any book below: read gently, take what resonates, and leave what doesn’t. Healing is not one-size-fits-all.
Some titles are dense, raw, or explicitly descriptive of abuse, and may be more useful later in recovery than in the earliest weeks. If a chapter starts to flood you, it is okay to set it down. Readiness matters more than finishing.
